1. Turn on Cool Boost

The first thing we need to do is to turn on a cool boost.  Go to your desktop screen and search for “Acer Quick Access” desktop app in your menu. There will be a pop-up and the first option you would see will be “Acer Signature Features”. Under that, search for “Cool Boost” and turn it on.

2. Set Fan speed to the maximum in Nitrosense

The next step it to set the fan speed to the maximum in Nitrosense. Go to the desktop, type “Nitrosense” in your search bar and open it. The app will open and on the top left of the window, you will find “Fan Control”. By default, it is set as an auto with 0 RPM for both CPU and GPU. To increase the fan speed, you would need to click on “Max” which will increase it to 4109 RPM for CPU and 4347 RPM in GPU.

3. Set power option to high performance

The third step is to set the power option to high performance. For that, click on the battery symbol at the bottom left corner of your screen. You will find three options – “Adjust Screen brightness”, “Power Options” and “Windows Mobility Center”. Click on the 2nd option – “Power Options”. A new window will open displaying the power options available.  The option of “Power Saver” would be the default option and under that click on “Change plan settings”. On the page that opens, you will see an option “Change advanced power settings”. Once you click on it, a small pop up window will come up. Scroll down the options and locate “Switchable Dynamic Graphics”. Click on the plus sign, which opens the “Global Settings” option. There are two variants available – “On battery” and “Plugged in” and both will have“Optimize Battery Savings” as the default setting. Click on the drop down and change it to “Maximize performance” for both “On Battery” and “Plugged in”.

Now, on the same window pop up, scroll down and locate “AMD graphics power settings” and “AMD Power play Settings”. For both, click on the plus sign and follow the above steps to change the setting to “Maximize Performance”.

Click “Apply”, followed by “OK”.

To do that, open “AMD Radeon Settings” on your laptop from your windows menu. A window will open, on which you can see “System” as an option, located towards the right side of the screen. Once you click on “System”, a new page opens, here click on “Switchable graphics”, found at the top right of the screen and then click on “Running Applications”. There will be two drop downs – “Running Applications” and “Installed Profile Applications”. Click on “Installed Profile Applications”, here you will find all the game apps installed on your laptop. You can select the setting to “High performance” for any game you want to, by clicking on the game.

5. Update your drivers to latest versions, graphics drivers!

The final step to make sure that you do not have to compromise on the gaming quality is to update all your graphics drivers. You can use the driver identifier to update them and even download its software from driver identifier.

Once you install the software, you will be prompted to scan the system. This helps you to submit your driver information to the software servers. This takes a few minutes and once it’s done, you will be directed towards a new window, which will have all your drivers listed with the name of their manufactures, their versions, and updates if any. Update the drivers you want to and check for the version of “Radeon RX560X series”, “AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics”. If it displays “Good”, it implies you already have the latest driver. For any driver, which is not updated, you can see an option of “Update” to update the same.
